Day 3: At Sofa’s End

I have another housey-cluttery post to share today.

This is our end table yesterday:

This is our end table today:

Everything that was on or around it is now in its proper place.

Found in this particular mess:

  • My sewing machine
  • The vinyl bag I used for swim meets all summer
  • Six magazines
  • Two store catalogs
  • Bank statements
  • A stack of end-of-the-school-year paper work (This had actually slipped off the table and was on the floor under the sofa)
  • A nail file
  • A straight pin
  • My old key chain
  • Four bobby pins
  • A paperback that belongs to Georgia (This one is not yet in its proper place)
  • A catalog I borrowed from the school’s occupational therapist last spring (*blush* Neither is this one)
  • A shoe(!?) (It was behind the sewing machine)
  • Kalen’s eczema medicine, a prescription I filled about two months ago
  • Dust.  Lots and lots of dust.

Crikey.  The pile didn’t look that big, did it?

On a related note, isn’t that a gorgeous table??  It’s another hand-me-down from Mom and Dad, and it’s on the list to be refinished.  I LOVE it – the narrow shape is perfect for that space (which is a walkway), and the nooks and crannies give it great interest without being too fussy.

Dear Lord! Thank you! I stumbled on this series today and it is like the swift kick in the rumpus I have been needing. I can’t wait to be reminded of all the little things that I could stop procrastinating on! Here’s hoping your series rubs off on me.

Ooh, I hope so, Brianna! Go, you!

That’s one of the reasons I decided to post this – first, of course, for accountability. It feels SO GOOD to be marking things off my (ever-growing) list. But, second, I hoped by sharing my own list of STUFF that it might inspire someone else to kick a few to-do’s to the curb.

  3. I think we have the same sewing machine? Yes, I like that table too! Snaps for you for getting things done!

  4. Mom says:

Aimee, that sewing machine is the one I bought at Lakenheath Air Force Exchange (1992) after I fried my old Necchi by not plugging it into the transformer in England. Enjoy! Glad you are enjoying the furniture “heirlooms”!

  5. GeorgiaBE says:

No rush on the paperback! I’m obviously not missing it in all my mess! Great job…keep thinking I’ll join you on the Anti-Procrastination journey…but I procrastinate too much.

What a GORGEOUS table!!! Oh my goodness. That is beautiful!

I blog at “Only a Breath” and would love for you to stop by if you have time! I’m writing about “31 Days to Love Your Neighbor”. It has been a very interesting journey to say the least! :)

    Have a great day!
